Team AIGETOA met the concerned officers of Corporate office and intimated about the opening of window by EPFO by way of extension of due date of approval of joint declarations pending at employer end on or before 31st of January 2025. This may be perhaps last chance given by the EPFO.

In this connection, we have requested to issue the instructions to the Circles regarding approval of joint declaration for higher pension pending at the BSNL end on or before 31st January, 2025 on immediate basis.

As discussed instructions to Circles will be issued by next week preferably on coming Monday or Tuesday.

On the occasion of New Year, Team AIGETOA had meeting with the Hon’ble Minister of Coal & Mines, Shri G Kishan Reddy. The team extended warm New Year greetings and presented the Hon’ble Minister with the AIGETOA Calendar 2025 and Diary, symbolizing our commitment to a progressive and connected future.

During the interaction, discussions were held regarding the pivotal role of BSNL in providing reliable and robust telecom services across the nation. The team emphasized the importance of strengthening BSNL’s infrastructure to ensure seamless connectivity, particularly in rural and remote areas. Various initiatives and proposals aimed at enhancing BSNL’s service delivery were also deliberated upon.

The Hon’ble Minister appreciated the efforts of AIGETOA in supporting BSNL and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to empowering the public sector enterprise in its mission to serve the people of India.

GS AIGETOA writes to CMD BSNL for clearing the long pending HR issues of Pay, Pension and Promotions and to ensure a proper career hierarchy to the executives of BSNL instead of making BSNL employees subject to another move of VRS which is completely uncalled for as on date, especially in view of the fact that BSNL is back on to the path of revival and profitability.

With a heavy heart, we mourn the passing of Dr. Manmohan Singh, the revered former Prime Minister of India, who passed away at the age of 92 while undergoing treatment in the hospital. Dr. Singh served as the Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014, leaving an indelible mark on the nation’s history.

Dr. Manmohan Singh was not just a leader but a beacon of integrity, wisdom, and statesmanship. His tenure was marked by significant economic reforms, robust growth, and enhanced global recognition for India. His visionary approach to economic policy, liberalization, governance, and social welfare laid the foundation for the country’s modern development.

On 24th Dec 2024, AIGETOA, led by All India President Shri Veerabhadra Rao, met Hon’ble Minister of State for Communications (MoSC), Shri Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, at Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. The meeting focused on pressing HR issues faced by BSNL Executives, particularly the delay in promotions. AIGETOA requested for the kind intervention of Hon’ble Minister to ensure the promotions within this year end, highlighting that it would not strain BSNL’s finances, as many eligible officers as per BSNL RRs have been waiting for over 12 years.

The team, including AGS Shri Fazal Ahmed, CHQ Advisor Shri D. Venugopala Rao, CP Shri BDPD Veera Swamy, and DS GTR Shri Sivaram Prakash, submitted a memorandum also. The Minister assured that he would take swift action, instructing his PS to forward the representation to OSD in New Delhi for further processing.

Later, in New Delhi, AIGETOA’s GS Shri Ravi Shil Verma, Convener Shri Aftab Ahmad Khan, and Finance Secretary Shri Badri Kumar Mehta met Hon’ble OSD to MoSC Shri Sanjeev Sharma to discuss the promotion proposal. The OSD assured that he would escalate the matter with BSNL management. The team also raised concerns over the VRS proposal, urging that all stakeholders be involved in discussions to ensure a fair decision.

The AIGETOA team was directed to follow up with BSNL management and DoT on December 26. The Minister, despite a busy schedule, took time to meet the team and assured support for a timely resolution.

With extreme grief, we bring to you the sad news of the demise of mother of Sh Saikat Das, Circle President Kolkata Telecom Circle. She left for her heavenly abode yesterday evening.

AIGETOA CHQ prays to the almighty to provide his family with sufficient strength and courage to tide over the crisis and for bearing this irreparable loss. We also pray so that the eternal soul rests in peace.
