GS AIGETOA writes to CMD BSNL and Hon’ble Labour Minister seeking their urgent intervention in settling the EPFO Intimations Causing Confusion for those executives who opted pension for higher wages and EPF authorized signatories of BSNL.

AIGETOA highlights the important issue that has arisen after the approval of the Joint Option for pension on higher wages by the employer (authorized signatories of BSNL). It has come to our attention that EPFO Regional Offices are sending error intimations to numerous members who opted pension for higher wages, requesting clarification, error correction, and the submission of accurate and complete information along with additional proof or evidence within a one-month period. In the letter sent by the EPFO, identical reasons are provided without specifying the exact mistakes or errors in question.

Without clear indication of the errors, members and authorized signatories are left unable to accurately correct the issues or provide the necessary documents. This approach by EPFO has led to significant confusion among BSNL employees and EPF authorized signatories of BSNL. Accordingly, GS AIGETOA urges the intervention of Hon’ble CMD BSNL and Hon’ble Labour Minister in this matter to engage with EPFO HQ to issue unequivocal guidelines that can clarify the course of action required in these situations.

AIGETOA urge to management :

1] Reevaluate the training allocation process and ensure that deserving executives across various tiers of the organization are given equal access to management training programs, including those conducted by prestigious institutions like IIMs.

2] Implement a transparent and merit-based selection process for nominating executives for specialized training programs, considering their performance, potential, and contributions to the organization.

3] Provide a clear roadmap for career development, including training and skill enhancement opportunities, for all executives, regardless of their current role or level.

GS AIGETOA writes to US (SNG), Department of Telecom, in response to his letter dated 14.07.2023 to the CMD BSNL regarding issuing presidential orders to the employees, recruited and sent for training by DoT, prior to 01.10.2000 and who joined duty after formation of BSNL :

GS AIGETOA writes to US (SNG), Department of Telecom, in response to his letter dated 14.07.2023 to the CMD BSNL regarding issuing presidential orders to the employees, recruited and sent for training by DoT, prior to 01.10.2000 and who joined duty after formation of BSNL, requesting to treat them as DoT recruitees, based on the criterion laid down by the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare.

GS AIGETOA emphasizes that its crucial to note that the observations outlined in the letter of US (SNG) do not align with the historical precedence set by the Department of Telecommunications in similar cases, nor do they conform to the legal determinations rendered by various courts in relation to this issue. Additionally, the observations appear to be at odds with the criteria established by the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare in matters of this nature.

In light of the aforementioned considerations, AIGETOA has requested to DOT for the reconsideration of the matter. To facilitate this, we have prepared a point-wise reply to the observations presented in your letter. This reply encapsulates our perspective and rationale, supported by existing regulations, legal judgments, and relevant precedents. We earnestly hope that you will take into account these crucial factors and reconsider your stance on this matter.

GS AIGETOA writes to Director HR regarding Revision of Flat Rate of License Fee for BSNL Residential Accommodation :

GS AIGETOA writes to Director HR regarding Revision of Flat Rate of License Fee for BSNL Residential Accommodation.

The increase in license fee for Central Government is fully justified because the employees of Central Government Departments are getting the revised Pay, Perks and Pension pertaining to the benefits of 7th CPC as the pay structure has been revised for these employees whereas in BSNL, employees are deprived of not only 3rd PRC benefits but also a major set of employees are yet to be extended complete benefits of 2nd PRC pertaining to revised E2 Pay Scales, 30% Fitment and 30% SAB and hence this revision in license fee should not have been made applicable to the employees of BSNL.
