AIGETOA once again raised the matter of the SAB Pension Fund to make it updated, whose payment is pending since April, 2020. It was strongly raised that due to delayed payment of the SAB Pension fund, interest of the intervening period is not given by LIC and hence management should make the payment of all due amount along with the interest for SAB Pension Fund of BSNL Recruited employees. It is shocking to note that not even a single Pension Case started under “SAB Trust Rules of BSNL” despite to the fact that thousand of BSNL Recruited Employees (Few Executives and mostly Non Executives) took VRS in Jan-2020 (more than a year before) on the call of government and most of them were entitled for SAB Pension. On the other hand entire machinery of BSNL was put on job to settle Pension Cases of DoT absorbed VRS opted employees, which again shows sheer discrimination by the management towards BSNL Recruits. Some people are trying to weaken you on behest of the some sponsored group but you have to be very cautious. Friends, it is very important to see that voice and strength of AIGETOA remains intact else no one is bothered for you in this department even for your entitled benefits.
AIGETOA appreciated the decision of the management to form the Committee for the Health Insurance Policy for BSNL Employees but also cautioned the management about its scope and mandate. The association told that it will be too early to comment on the formation of committee without having in depth information about scope and mandate of the committee but we find it apt to remind management that providing health care is duty of Employer and throwing it on the heads of Employees will not be accepted under any circumstances.
AIGETOA is firm in this regard and will not allow any tinkering in the responsibilities of the health provisions by BSNL. So, any Health Insurance Policy initiated by the department for executives and employees must be borne by the BSNL.
The association has a Policy of Social Responsibility with the name of AIGETOA Death Relief fund (DRF) for the family of deceased members. In this policy, AIGETOA extend immediate support of Rs 1.25 Lakh to the nominee of the deceased members on the receipt of the cases from AIGETOA Circle Branches for all death cases of its members. This is purely done on the association platform from internal resource of the part of membership fees received by the association.
Accordingly, three cases of sad demises received by AIGETOA CHQ, which includes, two from Rajasthan and one from Bihar. Today all three cases were disbursed the DRF amount of Rs 1.25 Lakh to the account of official nominees of our deceased members as detailed below.

It is also requested to our Circle and District Branches to ensure other settlement as available through BCF and other Terminal Benefits to be given immediately to the families of not only our members but all the employees of BSNL, who met with a sad and untimely demises.

AIGETOA extend profound thanks to the Director HR and GM Training for considering the request of AIGETOA for postponement of EPP Exam scheduled from 1st June, 2021 and safeguarding the interest of executives by giving relaxation for the next increment for those who have completed Two Year in the current Pay Scale but couldn’t appear in the exam due to prevailing Pandemic of Covid19. Team AIGETOA received representation from various executives across the BSNL and was consistently pursuing for postponement of online EPP Exam since 3-4 days in view of then extensive travel involved by the executives from their place of posting to the respective RTTC. Finally the efforts yielded positive result. We also want to apprise that AIGETOA is pursuing with the management to end this online exam process and instead of it introduced one or two weeks refresher course at different RTTC for some meaningful betterment of administrative and technical skill after the up-gradation of scale else close the whole process.
AIGETOA has strongly objected to discriminate between the causes of death and demanded to immediately include all death cases in BCF Policy and incorporate other measures in the notified Policy as suggested by the association earlier.
AIGETOA also demanded to declare all death cases due COVID or it’s related complications as “On Duty Death” and demanded adequate compensation for the families in line with the earlier communication dated 04.05.2021.
AIGETOA welcome the notification of BSNL COVID Fund Policy on 20.05.2021. Definitely, the policy is not completely as per our suggestion and expectation, what we submitted to the management with the name of BSNL Benevolent Fund and covering all untimely demises of our fellow BSNL colleagues instead of only COVID in the notified policy. So, the initiation of the policy should be welcomed by all and we assure that AIGETOA will keep on striving for further improvement in the policy as suggested by us earlier.
The current notification in a time bound manner has given some respite to the families, whose bread winner has lost the life due to COVID and now it’s our duty to ensure that the benefits should be extended to the families without any further delay. Teams AIGETOA at district and circle level are requested to expedite the process at OA/BA/Circle Level with personal persuasion and ensure that no case left unattended.
AIGETOA has already taken up the matter of inclusion of all untimely death of BSNL working employees in the Policy with the CMD and Dir(HR) BSNL Board, at least from here onwards, to give the much required support to the families of deceased employees, as death is a death, which devastate the entire family irrespective of its cause. So, BSNL should be more sensitive towards its employees and must include all death cases, which is already implemented in many organizations with much higher amount. Further the fund should be kept always operational instead of running it for a specific period to keep the coverage intact for all time. We will ensure that our suggestions are incorporated in the BCF policy by the management to ensure benefits to all who meet untimely death due to any reasons.
