BDM Writes to CMD BSNL Opposing Continuance of SET Recruitment Process

Bharatiya Doorsanchar Manch (BDM) writes to the CMD BSNL raising serious objections to the continuation of the Senior Executive Trainee (SET) recruitment process despite strong opposition from all stakeholders.

BSNL management had earlier assured that the ongoing SET recruitment process would be deferred and discussions would be held on creating a proper career hierarchy and succession plan for executives. However, instead of deferring the recruitment completely, the management has only extended the registration process and postponed the examination, which is breach of the earlier assurance.

BDM has highlighted that recruiting fresh candidates at the E3 level above existing executives will result in serious injustice to internal talent and further demotivate thousands of BSNL executives who are already waiting for their rightful promotions. The forum has urged the BSNL management to immediately halt the SET recruitment process and instead focus on executing long-pending promotions and strengthening internal career progression. BDM cautioned that if the process continues despite strong opposition, it may lead to organizational action programmes and protests.

GS AIGETOA writes to CMD BSNL for expeditious implementation of “One PSU – One Executive Association” Policy :

GS AIGETOA writes to CMD BSNL seeking expeditious implementation of the proposal for “One PSU – One Executive Association” policy, which was jointly submitted by all the three major service associations prior to the 4th Membership Verification (MV).

AIGETOA has pointed out that it is quite surprising that a proposal aimed at reducing unnecessary association-based divisions and promoting greater harmony and unity among executives continues to remain pending despite having the concurrence of all the major service associations in BSNL.

AIGETOA has further highlighted that the 4th Membership Verification is due this year, and as per the established practice, the notification for MV is generally issued in the month of March. Therefore, the management’s decision on implementing the “One PSU – One Association” policy, which already has the consensus of the three major service associations, needs to be communicated without any further delay.

Accordingly, in the larger interest of BSNL and the unity of executives, AIGETOA has once again urged the management to take an expeditious decision on implementing the “One PSU – One Executive Association” policy.

AIGETOA CHQ Wishes You a Joyous and Colorful Holi

AIGETOA CHQ conveys warm greetings to all members and their families on the vibrant and auspicious occasion of Holi.

May the colors of this beautiful festival fill our lives with positivity, harmony, and renewed enthusiasm. Let this occasion strengthen our unity and inspire us to continue working together with dedication for the progress and growth of BSNL.

Wishing everyone a safe, happy, and truly colorful Holi!

Update on SET Recruitment Process – Notification issued by BSNL for Registration Process Extension, Not Deferment

BSNL Corporate Office has issued a notification dated 02.03.2026 regarding the Direct Recruitment of Senior Executive Trainee (Telecom & Finance Streams).

Click here for notification on SET

As per the notification, the last date of online registration has been extended up to 31.03.2026 (10:00 Hrs) and the examination date will be notified later. While this action extends the timeline, it is important to clearly state that the recruitment process has not been deferred in totality. Only the schedule has been modified.

This is contrary to the assurance given to defer the entire SET Recruitment process, only the examination has been extended.

AIGETOA firmly maintains that:

1] Mere extension of registration or postponement of examination does not address the core issue.

2] The complete recruitment process must be deferred.

As already communicated, all major associations have agreed to serve a joint notice by the end of this week. Accordingly, AIGETOA will proceed with its next course of action.

We reiterate that AIGETOA will not allow the recruitment process to move forward in its present form. All necessary organisational steps, both jointly with other associations and independently, will be taken to safeguard the legitimate interests of executives.

Members are requested to remain united and stay prepared for further updates.
