A high-level delegation of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) met the Hon’ble Union Minister for Labour & Employment, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, in New Delhi and submitted a detailed memorandum on long-pending issues of workers having all-India relevance.
During the meeting, BMS raised key demands relating to enhancement of EPF and ESI wage ceilings, substantial increase in minimum pension, convening of the Indian Labour Conference at the earliest, revision of bonus and gratuity limits, welfare of scheme workers, and strict implementation of provisions related to contract labour.
The Hon’ble Minister patiently heard the delegation, discussed the issues in detail, and responded positively. He assured that the Government would examine the demands seriously and take appropriate steps at the earliest.
The suggestions submitted by BMS and the assurance made by Hon’ble Minister for Labour will be of huge benefit to BSNL Recruits as it will enhance the pension amount for those who are not covered by higher pension option. It will also benefit the BSNL Recruits in calculation of gratuity.
