Even though the postponement of LICEs were unexpected, since yesterday, Team AIGETOA CHQ had sought updates from recruitment section and HR Section for follow up action on the postponement of LICE and their revised notification expeditiously. The team consisting of GS AIGETOA Shri Ravi Shil Verma, AIP Shri Veerabhadra Rao and Organising Secretary (CHQ) Shri Harjinder Singh had detailed meeting with Director HR and GM Recruitment and other officers from Pers and Recruitment section. We expressed our strong resentment on such delayed communication on the postponement of exams. We told that when we had earlier highlighted the matter of festivals, problems related to commutation, officers rejecting the leaves due to March end, it was informed to us that the slots of agency is full till July 2024 and the March 24th was the only slot available. Now all of sudden this late realisation of the associated problems had created a lot of resentment and discomfort for the aspiring candidates.
We met Dir(HR) and insisted upon the early conducting of LICE exams so that the whole process of LICE can be completed without any road blocks. We suggested that management focus must be on regular channel of promotions through DPC for all eligible candidates. However, LICE must not be delayed upto July under any circumstances and requested for an urgent personal intervention from Director HR in this regard.
Keeping in view the urgency involved and disappointment of aspiring candidates, Dir(HR) has personally intervened in this matter and have taken up the matter at the highest level with the Exam conducting agency. It was assured to us that management will give its best efforts to conduct the exam by the second week of April 2024 or at most in the 3rd Week.
It was told to us that Management understands the urgency and issue is under discussion. A clarity is likely to be established in a day or two. Accordingly the revised notification shall be issued within a day or two with a Target date of conducting the exams by 15th April 2024 once the confirmation from examination agency is received.
Hence we would like to inform all concerned that this postponement of the exam will be a very short postponement and AIGETOA will take all efforts to ensure that there is no further delay. We are thankful to Director HR and his team for taking the discussions in right perspective and intervening to ensure that LICEs are conducted at the earliest. Simultaneously, our endeavours and efforts for ensuring the promotions of all eligible through DPC is also on and with the continued support, we will definitely succeed.
