A joint meeting of the General Secretaries of Unions and Associations of BSNL was held today, 10th October 2025, at 12:30 PM in the IR Hall, AIGETOA CHQ Office, to discuss the continued vindictive actions by the CGM, Chennai and Tamil Nadu Circles against employees.
All General Secretaries of the constituent Unions and Associations participated in the meeting and expressed serious concern over the continued harassment of employees, despite the discussions held earlier with Director (HR), BSNL Board.
The forum noted with concern that, instead of adhering to the spirit of reconciliation discussed during the meeting with Director (HR), the Chennai Circle Administration has further escalated its vindictive approach by issuing fresh threatening letters dated 08.10.2025. This has completely eroded the trust built during the discussions at Corporate Office.
After detailed deliberation, the forum unanimously decided the following:
- A joint letter will be submitted to the CMD BSNL seeking immediate resolution of the issue by withdrawing all vindictive actions and replacing the CGM of Tamil Nadu and Chennai Circles.
- If the issue is not resolved by 16th October 2025, the Unions and Associations of BSNL will conduct Lunch Hour Demonstrations across all BSNL offices on 17th October 2025, followed by further intensified organizational programs.
The forum expressed that the continued administrative high-handedness in Tamil Nadu and Chennai Circles reflects a serious lapse and undermines industrial harmony within BSNL. It was reiterated that the management must act promptly to restore peace and discipline in these circles by implementing the assurances given during the Director (HR) meeting.
The Unions and Associations of BSNL stand united in their commitment to protect the dignity, rights, and welfare of BSNL employees and will not tolerate any vindictive or discriminatory actions against staff and leaders.
