Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) proudly unveiled its new logo at a ceremony held on October 22, 2024 in New Delhi, symbolizing the company’s renewed commitment to providing secure, affordable, and reliable connectivity across the country. The logo was launched by the Honorable Union Minister of Communications and Development of the North-East Region, Shri Jyotiraditya M Scindia, alongside the Honorable Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development, Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar. The event, hosted at Bharat Sanchar Bhavan, also saw the presence of senior officials from the Department of Telecommunications, BSNL, and other key industry stakeholders.

A New Identity: Logo Design and Meaning

BSNL’s new logo embodies vibrancy, trust, and a vision for nationwide reach. The design features green and white arrows encircling the map of India, symbolizing the company’s extensive coverage and commitment to connecting every corner of Bharat. The vibrant orange backdrop represents warmth and inclusivity, while the bold tagline “Connecting Bharat” underscores BSNL’s mission to bridge the digital divide, offering a modern and reliable telecom network that serves both urban and rural communities.

Seven Pioneering Initiatives: A Comprehensive Approach

Alongside the new logo, BSNL introduced seven innovative initiatives aimed at transforming connectivity in India, anchored in three key pillars: Security, Affordability, and Reliability.

Security Initiatives

• Spam! Free Network: BSNL has rolled out an automatic spam-blocking solution that filters out phishing attempts and malicious SMS. This initiative ensures a safer communication environment without the need for constant alerts, providing users with seamless and secure interactions.

Affordability Initiatives

• BSNL National Wi-Fi Roaming: This first-of-its-kind seamless Wi-Fi roaming service enables high-speed internet access for BSNL’s FTTH customers at various hotspots, eliminating extra charges and minimizing data costs.

• BSNL IFTV: BSNL launches India’s first fiber-based intranet TV service, offering over 500 live channels and Pay TV to FTTH subscribers at no additional cost, with data usage not counted against their FTTH data packs.

• Any Time SIM (ATS) Kiosks: BSNL introduces automated SIM kiosks that allow customers to purchase, upgrade, port, or replace SIM cards anytime, utilizing UPI/QR-enabled payments and multi-lingual access, all while ensuring seamless KYC integration.

Reliability Initiatives

• Direct-to-Device Service: India’s first Direct-to-Device (D2D) connectivity solution merges satellite and terrestrial mobile networks for uninterrupted communication, especially crucial in emergencies and isolated areas, supporting UPI payments even in remote locations.

• Public Protection & Disaster Relief: BSNL has developed a secure, scalable network for disaster response, providing guaranteed encrypted communication for government and relief agencies during crises. This innovative network design, supported by drone and balloon-based systems, ensures continuous connectivity during emergencies.

• First Private SG in Mines: Partnering with C-DAC, BSNL introduces reliable, low-latency connectivity for mining operations, utilizing Made-in-India equipment. This service enhances advanced AI and IoT applications, ensuring safety and operational efficiency in underground and opencast mines.

BSNL Issues Corrections to Management Services Recruitment Rules 2023 (MSRR-2023):

Pers Section, BSNL CO has issued a corrigendum to rectify typographical errors in the recently announced Recruitment Rules for BSNL Management Services (Stream Wise) in 2023. The corrections address inadvertent errors in selection criteria for various streams, ensuring accuracy in the promotion process.

Key corrections include adjustments to the minimum qualifying service for promotion to AGM/DE and equivalent levels in Telecom Operations, Finance, Civil, and Electrical streams. Similarly, changes have been made for ARCH/TF/CSS/CSSS & OTHERS streams, as well as Finance/Civil streams for promotion to PGM and equivalent levels.
