The long-pending promotions from AO to CAO grade have finally been issued today. The journey has been nothing short of a roller coaster ride, with several hurdles along the way.
After the favourable court outcome, differing opinions and the concurrence of GS MA on the proposed ad hoc promotions nearly derailed the entire process. Moreover, the proposed arrangement was not even a proper ad hoc promotion, but merely a temporary arrangement similar to LA.
Thanks to the wisdom and constructive approach of officers from the SEA and Personnel Sections, coupled with the consistent and determined pursuance by Team AIGETOA, the process of regular promotions was finally put back on track.
The next major hurdle came when the proposed promotions were initially restricted to vacancies up to VY 2022, which would have resulted in promotions for only a limited number of officers. AIGETOA pursued the matter consistently and finally, success was achieved in securing the maximum possible vacancies up to VY 2023.
While a few eligible officers are still awaiting their due promotions, our efforts will continue until their legitimate cases are also resolved and the remaining promotions become a reality.
Another important aspect was our request to the management to ensure that transfers arising out of these promotions are need-based and that options are invited from the concerned officers before anyone is displaced. We are thankful to the management for considering this request.
