The DPC for promotion from AO to CAO was completed on 23rd October 2026, as informed earlier.
In the latest development, BSNL Corporate Office has called for posting options from eligible executives, seeking their preferences for three stations. All CGMs have been requested to ensure that the options reach BSNL Corporate Office positively by the stipulated deadline of 5:30 PM on 26th October 2026. This is required for early issuance of Promotion Orders.
AIGETOA welcomes this positive change in the management’s approach. In the past, it was observed that almost 100% of executives promoted to higher grades were transferred randomly to other circles, causing considerable hardship and disruption to their personal and family lives.
During the agenda meeting held on 6th October 2026, AIGETOA strongly raised the issue of indiscriminate transfers on promotion and advocated a more considerate and pragmatic approach. The Association suggested that transfers should be kept to the bare minimum and that posting preferences should be obtained from willing candidates, enabling promotions to be effected with minimal disruption.
The present initiative of seeking posting options is a welcome step in the direction advocated by AIGETOA. The Association expects BSNL Management to carry this approach forward, minimize avoidable displacement, and expedite the issuance of promotion orders.
