It hurts to listen slogans of "MURDABAD" for oneself...by a General Manager

(on Discussion Board of BSNL Intranet Portal, 1st August 2009)

It hurts to listen slogans of "MURDABAD" for oneself...by a General Manager : "ITS Murdabad", "BSNL Bachao- ITS Bhagao”, "ITS Chor hain", " Hum BSNL ke baap hain" , these were the slogans shouted by our young officers on 31-7-2009 at the gates of the office on the day of agitation of AIGETOA. We might have heard such slogans for others but when these are chanted for our self it hurts! Perhaps politicians are more accustomed to them and are immune but for officers within a prestigious company like BSNL it must be a very painful occasion. While i have always been supporting our young engineer’s officers to get their rightful and prosperous career in BSNL, the present agitation is taking a really unpleasant turn. The behavior of our young officers was worse than the lower cadres unions. Perhaps in my entire career, I have never heard "ITS Murdabad" and "ITS Chor hain", because in general I believe that majority of ITS officers by and large are honest and far more loyal to the Govt then in any other Govt dep’t, be it Customs, or IAS or any other services. It is generally seen that even in PSUs when the officer’s cadre goes on strike there behavior is far better than workers union, but our AIGEOTA friends failed to show such qualities. Perhaps they need much grooming, much more involvement in management. They need to be guided and trained to become superior mentally and behaviorally. Hope this is for the betterment.

Response of true AIGEOTAins -Yes, It hurts... It really hurts !

We fully agree with above views that not all ITS are corrupt but all ITS complete the whole BSNL management and only few ITS make the policy to run BSNL who are basically corrupt and other honest ITS are faithfully supporting them. We are not against ITS community but we are against the vindictive working of ITS without belongingness to the company because it hurts………..it really hurts………..

Only few ITS, holding the key post in the company are corrupt and all others are faithful to them. Let us see one example- GM (Pers) has transferred over 200 graduate engineers to the hard station as punishment of qualifying the LDCE of TES Group-B as they did not share this moment with GM (Pers). Every CGM knows that this was not as per the BSNL transfer policy and against the interest of the company but being faithful most of them did not dare to even open their mouth in opposition and they followed similar policy in circles, in this way most of the graduate engineers have been posted to non revenue generating stations. Only CGM Bihar was the person who openly opposed the GM (Personnel) in written against his anti business act, as a result of which, it is reflecting in the target achievement in state like Bihar.

It hurts...
When proper PSU set up is not established, even after nine years of formation of the largest Public Sector in the country.

It hurts…
When the highly qualified Engineers, even after clearing the toughest All India Competitive Examination (conducted by the premier IITs) for Asia No.1 PSU are being treated far below their merit and forced to work and called as JE for more than 8 years.

It hurts…
When the all decision makers of the company are working as guest and holds no responsibility on the growth of the company.

It hurts…
When the highly experienced and the qualified human resources are being continuously ill treated.

It hurts…
When we see our beloved organization is declining and the guest officers are only concerned with their luxuries.

It hurts…
When companies entering in telecom field today and earning profit tomorrow but BSNL profit declined 90% within two financial years despite having 150 years of legacy.

It hurts…
When we see our college mates, who could not clear the GE-JTO Qualifying Examination, are now climbing the corporate ladder with due recognition but here in BSNL we are still and forever designated as “Juniors”

It hurts…
When the whole country wants the young blood to flow in every movement, BSNL Management alone is neglecting its talented and experienced youth power.

It hurts…
When the Bosses of the Company not being the part of the Company and still enjoying all the benefits of the company as well as government.

It hurts…
When the Executives recruited through the Common Examination conducted on the same date are being given different pay scales, merely because of the start of their training, that too allotted purely by the Management.

It hurts…
When the Management is still following the same LDCE Examination Channel which was meant for upgrading their Group-C Officials to Group-B Officers, when the GE-JTO Recruitment itself is for Group-B Cadre and the minimum qualification is  Class-I Graduate Engineering Degree.

It hurts…
When the In-House Talents are being neglected and the New Technology works and the Developments are given tenders to the private people for very huge amounts.

It hurts…
When management believes on the capacity of Engineers and Account Professional working any where in India have no experience in telecom but undermine it’s own similar or even more qualified executives.

It hurts…
When we realize that there is no proper HR policy maintained in this prestigious Organization.

It hurts …
Really even when we young executives demand for our basic rights, we are being humiliated and harsh wordings are thrown on us and lame explanations and unjustified replies are given to us, without even considering the depth of the problem and the intensity of our demands and strength of our talent force.

Yes Sir, It hurts... It really hurts!
When realizing the fact that we have to come to road and shout for our very basic and genuine demands, which should have been given if the regular policies of the PSU had been followed properly….

But Sir, No other Go ! ….
Our Struggle and the wounds of the hurts will yield grand success at New Delhi on 18th August 2009. When we protect our beloved Organization BSNL, there won’t be any hurts either to its employees or to its Customers.

We are Emerging ! The Golden Era of BSNL is Starting !
BSNL will be the No.1 Telecom Sector not only in India, but in Whole Asia……….. In whole world.
