APPEAL BY GENERAL SECRETARY, AIGETOA FOR SIGNATURE CAMPAIGNING FOR "NO MT"

 

Dear, all the Executives of BSNL..

 

It is very pleasant to see the big participation of BSNL absorbed  Executives specially the Qualified engineers. AIGETOA is thankful for their concern about productivity of BSNL.

 

 Dear friends I would like to share some knowledge with all the executives of BSNL irrespective of Associations.

 

What is the meaning of term “Promotion” in any organization?

According to me, promotion is the reward to their hard working employees to keep their motivation high. There is single type promotion i.e. post bond promotion in government sectors as most of the government organizations are doing monopolistic job, so they do not face the tough competition in the open market still they put some qualification criteria for the higher post. Whereas in the public sectors there are two type of promotion, “time bond” and “post bond”. What is the basic reason to have two type of promotion in public sectors?  Public sectors have to face tough competition in the open market, so they need to satisfy the aspiration of every employee irrespective of qualification and experience without disturbing each other.

Time bond promotion is basically to compensate the experience and post bond promotion is to compensate the qualification. Post bond promotion is strictly restricted for the people who are professionally qualified in any public sectors for the well being of the organization.

Time bond policy has already been implemented in BSNL, which is fully compensating the experiences and post bond promotion should be only for the qualified employees who will not only save the bread butter of every employee but also motivate the people to acquire the qualification which in turn increase the number of quality employee. Do not forget, we are working in the cut throat competition and we must have strong “Human resource management” then only we would be able to survive.

 

Why are you satisfied with non regular JAG post while you are eligible for top level post?  

 It has been propagated by some associations as “big achievement” that now BSNL absorbed employees will  reach up to JAG while earlier they were reaching up to only STS and they compromised for outside MT. Just think a while, out side MT merely with ME/MBA qualified having zero experience are better option then in-house talent having equally qualified and having more then 6 to 20 years of experience?

Out side MT will be provided one year expensive training before posting in the department, do you think qualified engineers of BSNL are not able to learn the managerial skill with taking the same training? Many qualified engineers of BSNL have left the department and now working as district or circle head in private operator at the same time ensuring high productivity and increased profitability. You have every quality to serve as the top level management then why you are satisfied with only non regular JAG post?

 

HR policy of any public sectors must always be open ended for the qualified employees but in BSNL, MT recruitment will block the 100 % career progression of promotee engineers as they will be over aged for internal examination and almost 90% of direct recruits, despite of having all the in-house requisite qualification and talents.

 

So, it is humble request to all the Executive of BSNL who are still thinking to participate in signature campaigning, must participate with full faith and get ready to give your last breath for any arbitrary entry of MT.
