On 01.8.2014 SNEA (I) has extended thanks to AIGETOA(CHQ) and now the same has been withdrawn from their website just because AIGETOA (CHQ) want the explanation on their main issue as projected for long protest in Kerala i.e. corruptions allegations on CGMT Kerala.
It is common in industries that many top officers including management may get involved in activities which tantamount to corruption and this have been one of the big reasons for BSNL to enter into the huge losses. This is a very sad state of affair that so called recognized association seeks enquiry into the allegation of corruption against one officer, calls for a long agitation which by their account only resulted into big dent in revenue and later on withdraws the agitation by thanking the same officer just because some of their transfer posting issues are settled. We really condemn such move and we feel that such association leaders don’t have any moral right to represent any section of executives. . We were neither against CGM nor against the association but wanted whoever is guilty should be taken to task. If CGM was guilty he should have been punished and if association has made wrong allegation with some hidden interest then their recognition should have been withdrawn for making irresponsible statements and making losses to BSNL. We are and we will be with the persons who are really determined to fight against such corruption involved in BSNL but it is really painful that SNEA (I) has put down all the ethics of associations by making itself a party of the so called corruption. How come one association withdraws its long agitation and will become thankful to CGMT Kerala against whom they have alleged the corruption just on settlement of little transfer and posting. It would have been better to withdraw the said agitation either with open apology to CGMT Kerala considering that it may be a wrong allegation or should have have appealed other associations and unions for intensifying the struggle on single point i.e. corruption. But since they have gone other way, which gives us ample reasons to believe all ethics, all fighting spirit was for a wrong cause. Although many representatives at various level of SNEA (I) have played vital role in salary cut and other victimization of our members but yet this association assure to maintain high association ethics and extend full support against any victimization of any association for any reason. Satisfaction is not in achieving the goal but true satisfaction is fighting against injustice.
One side in other PSUs, even a letter from an individual officer addressed to Board of Directors against any corrupt activity is more than sufficient to institute any enquiry but in BSNL two months protest of a so called recognized association and the result associated with it shows the value of the recognized association in BSNL. Who is actually responsible to put down the value of executives association in BSNL? Definitely such type of activities where so called valiant fighters and champions of sustained struggle who uses these voices against the alleged corruption as a tool for settlement of their unethical demands. It seems that some of the leaders having no interest in BSNL and their benefits are no more affected with survival of company, have used thousands of executives throughout the country just to become shareholder of the alleged corruption. We request Members to be aware of such leaders.
At the same time management has also become answerable by allowing such blackmail to become fruitful in the form of accepting the demands of revocation of transfer and posting. We request Management through this platform to immediately review the orders failing which AIGETOA shall also be constrained to launch a similar type of struggle seeking that all the executives who have been transferred against their wishes be it on promotion or be it for any other reason should be transferred back to their choice places of posting. We have always maintained that transfer and posting as per policy should not be a reason to take management on ransom but such type of activities from management side will compel us to agitate for bringing our mass displaced candidates back to their circles and so on. Management has once again opened our wounds which we were trying to come in terms with. We once again request management to review the decisions taken on the backdrop of this highly unethical practice and we hope that management will understand our sentiments and act accordingly.
